DESCRIPTION:SHPE is excited to invite 3rd -12th grade students from: Iowa\, Illinois\, Indiana\, Kentucky\, Michigan\, Minnesota\, Missouri\, Ohio\, and Wisconsin to our VIRTUAL Noche de Ciencias (Night of Science). Noche de Ciencias is meant to inspire and teach students about STEM career fields through interactive activities. Students will have the opportunity to discover new career avenues while parents are encouraged to attend and learn about the college funding application process. \nThis event is free for all students and parents; 1 free activity kit will be provided per student (for first 200 registered students). Noche de Ciencias is scheduled for February 24th and 25th 2021\, allowing families the option to attend 1 of 2 nights. We will focus on the importance of Allyship and how to be a better Ally to others. Our panelists will highlight their journeys and how Allies have helped them to rise above the challenges they’ve each faced as a result of their intersectional identities – from country of origin to skin color\, culture to language\, gender to sexual orientation\, age to ability\, and beyond.
