SHPE Chicago Elections

SHPE Chicago is pleased to inform you that we are currently accepting nominations for chapter officer positions serving on the SHPE Chicago Executive Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 term. Please submit all nominations by e-mail for the following chapter officer positions for the SHPE Chicago 2015-2016 board to election-comm@shpechicago.org (please do not reply to this e-mail) by Monday, June 8, 2015.

As a reminder, each candidate must be a paid member of the chapter in good standing at least ONE fiscal year. A full description of the positions and responsiblities can be found in article V of the chapter bylaws. Article VI indicates nomination and election requirements.

The positions up for election are as follows:

  • President
  • Vice President Professional Development and Corporate Affairs
  • Vice President Community Affairs and Student Relations
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

The election of the chapter officers is organized and directed by the SHPE Chicago elections committee. Once nominations are received, the committee will confirm candidates meet all election requirements and inform candidates of their respective position on the ballot.  Once candiates accept their nominations, the committee will prepare ballots to be distributed to all eligible members.

Please note the current timeline requires that voting begins on June 11, 2015 and ends on June 18, 2015.  If you wish to excercise your right to be an active SHPE Chicago participant, please be on the lookout over the coming weeks for e-mail correspondence related to the elections process from SHPE Chicago.

The new SHPE Chicago Board of Directors will be installed on July 1, 2015 and serve through June 30, 2016.
