Angel Agrawal was raised in Carbondale, Illinois, in a multicultural household by his Colombian mother and Indian father. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Angel began his career at Raytheon Technologies, where he worked as a systems and system security engineer on various defense platforms. He now serves as a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman, developing advanced infrared imaging systems.
Angel’s involvement with SHPE began during college, where he saw firsthand how SHPE builds community among Hispanic engineers. As a professional, he is committed to enhancing SHPE Chicago’s reach by creating meaningful connections between local companies and SHPE professionals—delivering impactful programming that supports career development and collaboration.
Beyond SHPE, Angel is a senior advisor for the Hispanic employee resource group at Northrop Grumman’s Rolling Meadows campus and actively supports STEM education as a judge for the AIAA Design/Build/Fly competitions. In his free time, Angel enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, staying active, and DJing events around Chicagoland.
