SHPE Chicago proudly supports Niles North Engineering Club

The NNEC wins it’s first competition and advances to state

The Niles North Engineering Club competed in its first VEX Robotics Competition held on December 7 at Rolling Meadows High School.

Thirty-one teams from Illinois and Wisconsin competed. After seven rounds of qualifying matches, Niles North was selected to advance to the finals where they took first place. With this win, the team advances to the state competition held at Batavia, IL in March.

The team was also invited to the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship in Omaha, NE where the team will see where they stand against 200 of the top VEX Robotics teams from around the world.

VEX Robotics is the world’s fastest growing competitive robotics program for middle schools, high schools and colleges around the world, with more than 4,800 teams from 20 countries that participate in more than 300 tournaments worldwide.
