SHPE-Chicago wins Best National Large Professional Chapter of the Year 2010-2011

SHPE-Chicago won the Region VI Chapter of the year award during the Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC). This award advanced the chapter into a nomination for the national award of Best Chapter of the Year, which was announced during our National Conference in Anaheim on October 29, 2011. It is with great pride we announce that SHPE-Chicago WON the Best National Large Professional Chapter of the Year 2010-2011.To be awarded the best National Large Professional Chapter of the year is a great honor. This award is given to professional chapters that have shown extreme dedicated to its members, by offering great programs, networking, educational, professional development, mentorship and supporting college and high school chapters.

In addition, the the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) WON the Best Large Student Chapter of the Year award at a national level, so to have two of the best chapters in the nation in one city is another great accomplishment all its own.

To add to Region’s VI list of accolades, the Kentucky Blue Grass/Lexmark Chapter won Best Small Professional Chapter of the Year, so out of the 6 awards presented at a National level, Region VI won 3 and Chicago won two of those three.

The SHPE-Chicago executive board would like to thank all its members, associates, corporate partners and friends for their support and dedication over the last year. As a growing chapter, we promise to continue to provide the best support, programs, professional development and promote the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to our members.
